“Ali, The Compassion and Tolerance Tour” aims to educate the public about Islam’s original principals of equality, fairness and compassion via conversations with the public in various diverse communities in New York.
A slightly larger than life sculpture of Ali will be mounted atop a truck and travel through five boroughs. The vehicle will parade up and down prominent avenues of art and culture like Madison Ave and 5th Ave in Manhattan, making stops by MoMA and New Museum to have conversations with art lovers as well as obscure and unfashionable streets of Brooklyn and Queens such as Sheepsheadbay Road, Queens Boulevard and Van Wyck Expressway making stops at centers where Muslim population congregate.
The tour and all interactions will be filmed for documentation and for a final video installation.
